- Open Date & Time Settings
- Right-click the clock in the bottom-right corner of the taskbar and select Adjust date/time (or press Win + I and go to Time & Language > Date & time).
- Verify Automatic Time Settings
- Ensure Set time automatically is toggled On.
- Ensure Time zone is set correctly to your station’s broadcast time zone.
- Force Immediate Time Synchronisation
- Scroll down to the Synchronize your clock heading.
- Click the Sync now button. A tick will appear confirming the sync time.
If you don’t see this option or the clock fails to sync, then you can use this method which will force synchronization with the public NTP pool:
- Resync via PowerShell as Administrator
- Right-click the Start Menu icon, select Windows PowerShell (Admin), and run:
net stop w32time; w32tm /config /manualpeerlist:"0.pool.ntp.org 1.pool.ntp.org 2.pool.ntp.org 3.pool.ntp.org" /syncfromflags:manual /reliable:YES /update; net start w32time; Start-Sleep 2; w32tm /resync /force
Broadcast Drift Verification:-
In the same PowerShell window, run w32tm /query /status. Check the Phase Offset value; for on-air broadcast playout, this should be well within ±0.3000000s (300 ms).
